Sarah Pearce is the founder and owner of Trinity Doula Services, a full-spectrum doula agency serving families throughout the Greater St. Louis area, Metro East, Southern Illinois, and surrounding communities. A mother of four with nearly a decade of professional birth work behind her, Sarah brings a unique combination of lived experience, clinical knowledge, and extensive hands-on experience to the families she serves. She has supported hundreds of families through pregnancy, labor, birth, cesarean delivery, VBAC, postpartum recovery, newborn care, and the many unexpected turns that can happen along the way. Before transitioning fully into birth work, Sarah worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse with a background in pediatric home health, caring for medically complex children. She is also a Certified Birth Doula, Birth & Bereavement Doula, Newborn Care Specialist, placenta encapsulation specialist, childbirth educator, and NRP-certified birth professional. Continuing the Journey Into Midwifery: Sarah is currently in the midst of her midwifery education and clinical journey toward becoming a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM). Her midwifery studies have allowed her to deepen her knowledge of physiologic birth, prenatal care, complications, newborn assessment, postpartum care, emergency skills, and community-based maternity care while continuing to work directly with families as a doula. For Sarah, becoming a midwife is not a departure from doula work—it is an extension of the work she has been passionate about since entering the birth field in 2016. Her own experiences as a mother also deeply influence the way she approaches birth. Sarah's four births included an induction, a cesarean for a breech baby, two successful VBACs, and an unmedicated birth. Those experiences have given her a personal understanding of just how different every pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey can be. Educator, Writer & Advocate: Sarah's work extends far beyond the birth room. She is an Executive Contributor for Brainz Magazine, where she writes about motherhood, maternal health, birth, postpartum care, and the realities facing modern families. Her published work includes “Would I Be the Woman I Am Today If I Hadn't Become a Mom at 16?” and writing addressing why postpartum mental health support must begin before families reach a crisis. Her leadership, advocacy, and contributions to maternal and family support have also earned international recognition from Brainz Magazine, including the CREA Global Award for creative and innovative ideas, adaptability in business, and contributions to meaningful social initiatives, as well as recognition as a Brainz 500 Global Award honoree. Sarah's work and story have additionally been featured by VoyageSTL, CanvasRebel, Wellness Magazine, and other media outlets. Earlier in her career, she was recognized by The Southern Illinoisan as one of its 20 Under 40 honorees. Beyond working directly with families, Sarah educates and mentors the next generation of doulas and birth workers. Through professional training, mentorship, and consulting, she focuses heavily on preparing doulas for the realities of the work—not simply teaching what can be learned from a textbook. She also consults in the development and education of recovery doulas, helping strengthen support for pregnant and postpartum families affected by substance use and recovery. Building Support Beyond Birth: Sarah believes supporting families requires looking beyond what happens in the delivery room. She is the founder of The Little Resource Center, a community resource initiative providing families with access to diapers, formula, food, personal-care products, baby supplies, and other necessities. She also founded a large online community dedicated to connecting families with doulas and other birth professionals, helping make professional birth support easier to find across communities. And yes—after decades of experience with babies and a household that includes several very large dogs, Sarah still happily accepts the unofficial titles of “Baby Whisperer” & "Dog Whisperer. She has a particular interest in helping families safely prepare their pets for the arrival of a new baby. The Heart Behind Trinity Doula Services: What began as Sarah's individual doula practice has grown into a team of birth and postpartum professionals serving families across Missouri and Illinois. Sarah has intentionally built Trinity Doula Services around something she believes every family deserves: knowledgeable support they can depend on. The agency model allows families to benefit not only from the expertise of an individual doula, but from the experience, collaboration, and reliable backup of an entire team. Whether a family is preparing for their first baby, pursuing a VBAC, facing a complicated pregnancy, planning a cesarean, recovering postpartum, navigating sleepless nights with a newborn, or simply trying to determine what support they need, Sarah's goal remains the same: Help families feel informed, respected, capable, and genuinely cared for.
